Organizations today are always in search of better software in order to increase profits and improve the working of their business. Any business, no matter how big or small, requires the use of technology in order to maintain their position in the current market situation. For this very reason Microsoft has provided the world with one of the best software applications for data entry and management, Microsoft Excel. Excel is considered to be the best and most formidable spreadsheet application in the market. Microsoft Excel provides a variety of different functions to ensure that your collaboration with software is easy and quick, and gives you unbeatable results.

Complex Calculator in Excel

With Microsoft Excel you can have the unique option of creating your own smart calculator that will have your customers coming back every time. All you have to do is design your calculator and then convert it into an interactive web page that can be used in your website.

Online calculators are not just practically useful but are also aesthetically appealing. Adding an online calculator to your webpage can also convert your passive and boring website into an active and useful one. Creating a complex quotation calculator makes it easier for your customers to compute or calculate their final cost of services. Of course this computation will be based on multiple data obtained from various sheets. Creating and publishing an interactive online calculator is no doubt better than your customers sending you emails constantly and waiting for replies every time they want to estimate the cost of something.

Generating the Complex Calculator

Although Excel can be used for creating many other calculators in addition to a quotation calculator, the steps will remain the same regardless of the type.

  • Step 1
  1. Start by going to Windows Live SkyDrive and signing in with your Windows Live ID.
  2. Create a folder to store public documents.
  3. Drag the Share With slider up to make the folder public by placing it on Everyone (public). Now everything uploaded to this folder can be accessible by everyone on the web.
  • Step 2
  1. Upload your workbook to the newly created folder by clicking on the Add Files option in the menu.
  2. Specify the file to be uploaded by dragging and dropping from Windows Explorer or select the documents from your computer by clicking the link.
  3. Click on Continue once the file has been uploaded.
  • Step 3
  1. Place your cursor above the file that you wish to share. On doing so a list of options will appear to the right.
  2. Click on the More drop down list, then on Share, and then on Embed.
  3. Copy the embed code by clicking the copy link above it and then clicking on done.

This default embed does not allow the user to interact with page and therefore from entering any text. This can be customized as per your needs.

After this just save the page and view it. You will notice that your workbook is embedded onto your website! You can now interact with your workbook easily directly from your page.
